Lent taizé worship

UPDATE: You will see below the revised Lenten midweek worship schedule for 2020.  Because of Covid-19 and with respect to the recommendations and mandates from state and federal agencies, we are suspending all public worship and Lent meals through, and including, our last Midweek service on 4/1. Please note that video services will be available each Wednesday evening during Lent (as well as Sunday mornings for the interim). Please gather the family and join us for these video services right here on the homepage of this site!

REVISED NEW HOPE LENTEN WORSHIP SCHEDULE:

It is our tradition to observe 4 midweek Lenten services leading up to Holy Week.  In recent years, we have been introduced to a unique style of service which originated in the French town of the same name: Taizé.   These brief worship services are highlighted by candlelight, reverence, contemplation, and beautiful music.  Taizé liturgy (click the blue word to learn more...) focuses on the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus for sinners like us. Due to the restrictions on public gatherings, this year's Lenten services will be available online per details in the update above.

The remainder of our schedule this year looks like this:

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 11, 2020

  • 6-6:45p Lent Dinner
  • 7-7:30p - Taizé Worship (James 1:1-4)

LENT 2020 TAIZÉ PLAYLIST

If you have interest in hearing a sampling of the music ahead of time, or simply more of it, you are invited to listen to a Spotify playlist we have made. Each week it will grow with the songs to be included on that Wednesday.

NOTE: If you don't have a Spotify account, you will be able to hear samples only. If you have one, you will be able to hear the full selections.
