Serve Within the Church
There are many ways to build hope and come together in service to our New Hope family. Below are some of the ways we use our gifts, talents, and time to care for one another.
Serve our Neighbors
We are called to bring hope beyond our walls by serving our neighbors in the community. Clink this link to see examples of how we use our gifts, talents, and time to make a difference.
We are commissioned to “go therefore and make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:19), so we dedicate a portion of our first fruits to support efforts to spread the good news of God’s grace.

Music Ministry
We are a group of people with mixed levels of musical abilities that love to praise the Lord with music. All talents are invited weather you like to sing, play music or help with the audio visual equipment.
Alter Guild
Serving by preparing the altar is a special way to share your gifts with our church and community. Through simple but meaningful tasks—arranging the elements, preparing the space, and honoring each season—you help create a place where others can gather, reflect, and encounter hope.
Volunteers serve 2 weekends every 3 months, setting up and taking down the communion elements.
Luncheons and Funerals
New Hope is available to support you through all events in your life. In difficult times, we offer luncheons and funeral services, along with other resources, to make the process easier.
More information about funeral resources can be found on the Contact page.
Building and Property Maintenace
We are grateful to have a beautiful place of worship where we gather, and the New Hope Trustees help preserve and care for it by organizing and prioritizing maintenance, repairs, and improvements to our church properties. They oversee facility needs, including building upkeep, yard clean-ups, snow removal, and other projects that help keep our church safe, welcoming, and well maintained.

Serving our Neighbors
Help us show Christ’s Love to Godfrey-Lee East Lee and Early Childhood Center through our Hand2Hand Ministry. Nearly 100% of students are considered disadvantaged. We provide a bag of food to registered East Lee students each week during the school year and partner with Daybreak Church to support the ECC.
There are two ways to support this ministry
– purchase food(needed items are on the giving tree in the narthex)
– help us pack food bags on the second Sundays during fellowship time.
Teacher Appreciation Dinner
A teacher and staff appreciation dinner was held at New Hope to thank all those that care for the children and take the extra time to help them grow.
Launch Sunday
Launch Sunday is a special day where we take the church beyond our walls and into our community. We’ll gather for a shortened worship service before heading out together to serve others through a variety of projects and acts of kindness. It’s an opportunity for our congregation to put faith into action, build relationships, and make a meaningful impact in the places where we live and work. Whether serving neighbors, supporting local organizations, or encouraging those around us, Launch Sunday is about being the hands and feet of Christ together.
Meals on Wheels, a service offered by Sunset Senior Communities, delivers meals directly to seniors to help those with physical limitations to live independently in the comfort of their own homes. Local volunteers deliver the meals to seniors residing in Hudsonville, Jenison and Grandville.
Mel Trotter Ministries provides shelter, meals, housing assistance, job training, and support services to help people experiencing homelessness and hunger in the Grand Rapids community move toward long-term stability and independence. The New Hope volunteers helped with food preparation, serving, cleaning, and organizing the many storages areas.

Shields of Hope
We serve our community with compassion and love, reaching in to use our gifts, talents, and time to care for the greater Hudsonville, Michigan area. We are commissioned to “go therefore and make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:19), so we dedicate a portion of our first fruits to support efforts to spread the good news of God’s grace.
